Last week I went home to Scotland for 5 days to spend some time with family and friends. Although it was an extremely short visit, it was well worth it and I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it – even the fact it was freezing cold!
I split my time between friends and family, though more in favour of family and I thoroughly enjoyed just relaxing and having a lot of quality time with my parents, sister and nephews. It was so, so good to see them! It was also very good to enjoy my mum’s cooking!!
Time with friends was mostly spent in Glasgow enjoying good food and good cocktails! Like my family, my friends had to listen to me waxing lyrical about how much I’m loving life right now although I do admit there were times when I thought that I really should broaden my conversation beyond life in Saudi Arabia. However, they continued to ask questions so I continued to talk…!
Monday seemed to roll round far too quickly and, as I was getting ready to leave, I found myself thinking it was time to go home. This made me realise how incredibly lucky I am – Scotland will ways be home but, thanks to the people I’ve met here, Saudi Arabia also feels like home too.
So to my wonderful family and my amazing friends in both Scotland and Saudi Arabia I want to say thank you for making my life fantastic. I love you all.
