Training – the story so far…

Over the past 8 weeks I have been taking a spiritual journey on Gabrielle Bernstein’s Spirit Junkies Masterclass Digital.  This is an online version of Gabby’s live weekend Spirit Junkies Masterclass and I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done.

I learned so much about my connection to the Universe, connecting with my Spirit guides and Higher Self, letting go of fear and just generally taking a breath, pausing and tuning in to what was really happening rather than being ‘ruled’ by the rush and chatter in my head.

I’m not going to lie to you.  I’m not all of a sudden magically living a perfectly calm, zen life – it’s early days and of course there are still times when I get caught up in stuff.  A drama at work, things that piss me off, situations that are out of my control, etc.  But now I’m better equipped to pause and reflect (sometimes this has to wait until I’ve calmed down) I don’t spend so much time fuming and fussing, tying my head up in knots and driving myself crazy worrying over things.  The new way feels a whole lot healthier.

For the past five months or so I’ve been meditating daily, usually for between 10-30 minutes depending on how much time I have but now I’m taking time once a week to meditate for an hour.  I usually do this just before bed, it’s a great way to unwind after a busy day and calms my mind so I can sleep well.  Again, it doesn’t always work – I’m  still fairly new to this practice and sometimes I find my mind whirling and wandering all over the place but like everything in life, the more I practice the better I’ll become.

I then finish my day be writing down 3 things that made me happy during the day and 3 things I’m grateful for.  I use index cards to record them as this way, if I’m having a bad day or feeling a bit down, I can flick through them and remember recent things that have made me feel happy/that I’m grateful for and that usually reminds me that things aren’t all that bad.

During the course I also learned some fantastic tools, my favourite being EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping.  I have tapped through some of my own issues and I am amazed at the results.  Some of my friends have also been kind enough to let me lead them through tapping exercises and they too have been amazed by how quickly and easily it can make a difference.  If you’d like to know more, please do get in touch.  .

EFT will become an integral part of my coaching practice once I have completed the other courses I have lined up on my journey.  For now, I’m so grateful to my friends who have been willing to be my ‘test clients’.

I have more courses lined up to increase my knowledge and skillset, but for now I’m taking a break and enjoying being a Spirit Junkie.
